Ítem Los adversarios de la ficción. Una defensa de la literatura, de Gregory Jusdanis(Universidad EAFIT, 2015-06-01) Raga Rosaleny, Vicente; Universidad de AntioquiaÍtem Análisis de las condiciones socioeconómicas de las mujeres en Colombia : la incidencia de la economía del cuidado en la probabilidad de estar empleado(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) García Gómez, Valentina; Dávalos Álvarez, EleonoraThis research manages to evidence gender inequality when performing unpaid domestic care tasks and its impact on the Colombian labor market, in addition to proving that this situation not only limits female labor participation, but also has an impact on its efficiency and performance. Based on the National Time Use Survey 2017-2018 and implementing a linear probability model, it is found that performing this type of unpaid tasks has a negative impact on the probability of obtaining a job. In addition, it confirms the double workday fulfilled by those women who manage to get employed and who additionally work longer hours having a high proportion of time use for care economy work.Ítem Autonomía y gobernabilidad étnica: ¿Realidad o encrucijada? Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesInitiatives that have brought information and communication technologies into classrooms across the world often struggle to engage the school community to effectively use them. At the same time, involving students in extracurricular activities at school has been demonstrated to bring benefits in student motivation and academic achievement. This paper explores how Colombian K-12 students experience their participation in networks created- both at school and city level-to manage educational technologies in their schools through the lens of self-determination theory. The results suggest that student participation in these networks supports the development of the three psychological needs supporting intrinsic motivation: competence, autonomy, and relatedness. Students feel competent after participating in workshops and learning activities designed to support their responsibilities as members of the network; students feel the need to investigate and become more competent to be able to support teachers, other students, and their own families; students demonstrate autonomy by proposing activities within the network that may benefit their school and the school community; finally, students report changes in their relationship with teachers and other students as they become recognized as providers of technological support to their communities. © Common Ground Research Networks.Ítem La escuela : una experiencia literaria(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Quintero Restrepo, Malena; Ardila, Alba ClemenciaThe present article studies the way in which the novel, En diciembre llegaban las brisas, by Marvel Moreno, presents the configuration of female subjectivity as a struggle between heteronomy and autonomy, in which the school apparatus assumes a fundamental role in the adaptation of women to patriarchal society, while in some cases the family provides an alternative value scheme enabling forms of resistance to the status quo. Beyond the literary, this reflection is based on a concern about the role of educational institutions in society and hopes to contribute in some way to that debate.Ítem La gestión de la empresa pública: Lecciones de una empresa de servicios públicos(Universidad EAFIT, 01/12/2005) Juan Carlos López Díez; Universidad EAFITÍtem Principios humanistas en el Estado Constitucional y la amenaza de la reacción antihumanista(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Calle Pérez, José Manuel; Ramírez Echeverri, Juan DavidSince the 19th century, the ideals of the Enlightenment, the philosophical theory of Humanism, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and the Citizen and the liberal revolutions have been strongly criticized by conservative, monarchical and religious centers that flatly denied the enlightened assumptions. Between the 19th and 20th centuries, European colonization and totalitarian states diverted these ideals into a systematic abuse of rights and power. Today, the debate is still going on, and the resurgence of the anti-humanist reaction and new extreme right-wing movements, in addition to the recent war events, suggest that the current Constitutional State, and humanism, its political and philosophical core, are facing the same threat of the past: the negation or deviation of the ideals that took shape in Europe during the Age of Enlightenment.Ítem What democracy(ies)(Universidad EAFIT, 2012-07-16) Pérez de la Fuente, Oscar; Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
