    Space limitations and the growing passenger demand at the José María Córdova Airport have generated the need to innovate through different methods and methodologies to help optimize various passenger management resources, including technological equipment, infrastructure, and procedures. Through simulation tools and data analysis, the effective capacity of the entire passenger security screening process leading to the boarding gates will be determined. It is established that every passenger booking a flight with any airline operating in the terminal must, as a first step to enter the departure lounges, allow their ID and boarding pass to be verified by a security agent. Once the documentation is validated, the passenger must proceed to the designated area for cabin baggage X-ray screening and body scanning. The purpose of this is to detect items prohibited by authorities, which are considered a risk to civil aviation security. Currently, during peak operational hours, large numbers of passengers queue to begin their entry into the boarding areas. Given this situation, the aim is to determine the current processing capacity of document verification agents and X-ray machines. This is done using mathematical tools and statistical simulation to evaluate passenger behavior across different scenarios that reflect current dynamics and the growing demand. Once the installed capacity is determined, this information will serve as an input for the company's decision-making regarding the potential implementation of automated verifiers, the redistribution of service points, or equipment modernization, among others, which will ultimately impact the operation and its service levels.
