This study seeks to describe, through the experience and perceptions of patients, how social skills are affected in some subjects diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the city of Medellín in 2019. Objective: to identify the various factors influencing the development of social skills, to describe the characteristics that some subjects possess about bipolar disorder, and to give an analysis of these social skills affects in some subjects with bipolar disorder. Method: The tendencies denoted in the investigation on the two variables are approached through historical accounts, contextualizations and/or different postures for the suffering of this one in the psychic life. With the following exploration instrument, four semi-structured interviews were carried out in order to compile all the information referring to the subjects. The type of study is qualitative, to four people diagnosed with 2 bipolar disorder in the city of Medellín in 2019. Results: The effects due to the diagnosis of bipolar disorder, are subjective and depend on how conscious the patients are or not of the treatment and their desire to moderate their symptoms or crisis that can become impediments for being socially skillful, all those social skills will depend on the cultural schemes they possess, such as emotions, beliefs, attitudes, expectations, economic situation, among other significant.

El presente estudio busca describir, a través de la experiencia y las percepciones de los pacientes, cómo se afectan las habilidades sociales en algunos sujetos diagnosticados con trastorno bipolar en la ciudad de Medellín en el año 2019. Objetivo: con el fin de identificar los diversos factores influyentes en el desarrollo de las habilidades sociales, describir las características que poseen algunos sujetos sobre el trastorno bipolar y dar un análisis a esas afectaciones en las habilidades sociales en algunos sujetos con trastorno bipolar. Método: Se abordan las tendencias denotadas en la investigación sobre las dos variables a través de recuentos históricos, contextualizaciones y/o diferentes posturas para el padecimiento de este en la vida psíquica. Con el siguiente instrumento de exploración, se realizaron cuatro entrevistas semiestructuradas con el fin de recopilar toda la información referente a los sujetos. tipo de estudio es cualitativo, a cuatro personas diagnosticadas con trastorno bipolar en la ciudad de Medellín en el año 2019. Resultados: Los efectos debido al diagnóstico de trastorno bipolar, son subjetivos y dependen de qué tan conscientes están los pacientes o no del tratamiento y su deseo de moderar sus síntomas o crisis que pueden llegar a ser impedimentos para el ser habilidoso socialmente, todas aquellas habilidades sociales dependerán de los esquemas culturales que poseen, como las emociones, las creencias, las actitudes, expectativas, situación económica, entre otras significativas.
