Ítem Inversión y doble imposición en la Alianza del Pacífico: una estimación robusta(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) D'Paola Puche, Emilio Humberto; D'Paola Puche, Gino Paul; Pérez Restrepo, Camilo Alberto; Puerta Cuartas, AlejandroForeign Direct Investment (FDI) in productive sectors is still largely concentrated in developed countries, while investment destined to emerging markets, in most of the Latin American economies, is fundamentally linked to extractive processes of commodities, which exposes the region to shocks generated by changes in the price of these products in the international markets and at the same time it does not allow to acquire the benefits linked to FDI processes -- One of the strategies used by countries to increase the flow of foreign investment are the block negotiations and the signing of double tax treaties -- In this paper we analyze how foreign direct investment has behaved within the framework of the Pacific Alliance, and the effect of double taxation treaties in the FDI -- To measure the incidence of double taxation treaties on foreign investment among the members of the Pacific Alliance, different econometric models were implemented among the current members of the Pacific Alliance in the period of time from May 2003 to April 2016 -- The results suggest that double taxation treaties play a diffuse role in foreign direct investment, rather than being associated with a specific effect, these treaties may attract or repel investment depending on the specific place and time analyzed
