Lo anterior, para determinar si la regulación en dichos ordenamientos jurídicos atiende a un enfoque multiculturalista o feminista, partiendo del presupuesto de que la práctica supone una disputa entre los derechos a la autodeterminación e identidad cultural de las comunidades que la practican y los derechos fundamentales a la integridad física y mental de las niñas y mujeres sobre quienes recae el procedimiento.The objective of this enquiry is to compare the legal treatment given to the female genital mutilation in Colombia, Egypt and Spain through a comparative law study, in order to identify the differences and similarities of the cultural development of the practice in each country, as well as the legal response that they have seized regarding mutilation.
