Las huertas urbanas han sido una opción que algunos países y ciudades han utilizado para mitigar esta crisis, pues esta estrategia les permite a los hogares contar con alimentos sin químicos de manera permanente, para satisfacer su autoconsumo. en el mundo, esta iniciativa ha sido ampliamente utilizada para que comunidades y ciudades logren superar crisis de pobreza y de alimentación. Es por estas razones que el Semillero SMART e INSIGHT, ambos del área de Marketing e Innovación de la Escuela de Escuela de Administración de la Universidad EAFIT, así como el semillero Culturama, de la Facultad de Diseño de la Universidad Pontifica Bolivariana, propone este proyecto de investigación que busca aportarle a la apropiación social del conocimiento en sostenibilidad a través del diseño de un modelo de huerta urbana en Medellín que sea sostenible y replicable a otros entornos. La apropiación social del conocimiento en sostenibilidad permeará no solo a las personas de las comunidades elegidas para realizar las huertas, sino también a los estudiantes de los semilleros participantes en el proyecto.Malnutrition and food insecurity are two complex problems that Colombia, like the rest of the world, is trying to solve.
