Este horizonte problemático justifica la exploración del pensamiento de Cicerón, quien es enfrentado a un contexto análogo de decadencia y fragmentación plural de la polis griega. A partir de allí se realiza una aproximación hermenéutica a su posicionamiento en dicho contexto, el cual aboga por una expansión del sentido de la pertenencia a la comunidad más allá de los límites estrictamente políticos.
