Además de analizar todos los signos contenidos en la partitura, la interpretación de música vocal inédita exige contemplar los significados sugeridos por el texto, así como los aspectos motrices, cognitivos y emocionales del cantante (Seashore, 1967; Dunsby, 2006). Por medio de un análisis autoetnográfico, este artículo presenta una reflexión sobre la interpretación de tres canciones inéditas, escritas para piano y voz por compositor Alberto Guzmán Naranjo (1953–), y arroja luz sobre el quehacer del cantante lírico.Music performance has been understood in two opposite ways: as a passive action between the composer’s ideas and the listener and as a dynamic action where the performer gives meaning to the music through his artistic creativity (Mellers, 1992). Although vocal performance demands a deep analysis of all those musical signs contained in the score, it is necessary to look at the meanings of the text, as well as the motor, cognitive and emotional aspects of the singer (Seashore, 1967; Dunsby, 2006).
