This novel shows the misleading power of the American dream for the Latin-American population, and at the same time, reviews the numerous preconceptions linked to the configuration of the citizens of the South. This paper offers the reader with a hermeneutical analysis of the comparison between the inhabitants of the North versus those of the South, as developed by the author through a crime novel. For this purpose the analysis will focus on two dichotomous motives: the language/the writing and the clean/the dirty, which are proposed as parameters of comparison and coincidence between the two cultures.spahttps://v2.sherpa.ac.uk/id/publication/issn/0210-5810Frontiers on Tenterhooks.
