Su objetivo fue analizar el rol de la mujer rural en la seguridad alimentaria en localidad de Sumapaz, Bogotá D.C, ubicada en el extremo sur del Distrito Capital de Bogotá, territorio rural más extenso de la capital y uno de los ecosistemas de páramo más grandes del mundo. Las mujeres en Sumapaz tienen un rol activo y funcional en el sistema de seguridad alimentaria, su responsabilidad se enmarca en cada eslabón de la alimentación desde el cultivo, aprovisionamiento, preparación y servido de los alimentos. Las fortalezas muestran el rol protagónico de la mujer en la seguridad alimentaria, enmarcando y resignificando como guardiana del conocimiento y de las prácticas de conservación de su territorio. Evidenciando la continuidad de prácticas sostenibles que estabilizan los sistemas agroalimentarios y la identidad cultural. Esta investigación se enfocó en identificar roles, prácticas y aportes de la mujer rural identificando sus capacidades, recursos y barreras que limitan su ejercicio, mediante la aplicación de entrevistas semiestructuradas a 20 mujeres, las cuales fueron analizadas mediante un enfoque cualitativo. Finalmente, el estudio demuestra que el fortalecimiento de la seguridad alimentaria en Sumapaz requiere reconocer políticamente el papel histórico, cultural y productivo de las mujeres rurales, permitiendo el acceso a recursos, su participación en decisiones territoriales y el respeto por sus saberes ancestrales.This work was based on the need to highlight the contributions of rural women to the sustainability of the territory. Its objective was to analyze the role of rural women in food security in the Sumapaz district of Bogotá D.C., located in the southernmost part of the Capital District of Bogotá, the largest rural area in the capital and one of the largest páramo ecosystems in the world. Women in Sumapaz play an active and functional role in the food security system. Their responsibility extends to every stage of the food chain, from cultivation and procurement to preparation and serving. Their strengths demonstrate the leading role of women in food security, framing and redefining their position as guardians of knowledge and conservation practices in their territory. This highlights the continuity of sustainable practices that stabilize agri-food systems and cultural identity. This research focused on identifying the roles, practices, and contributions of rural women, examining their capabilities, resources, and the barriers that limit their participation. This was achieved through semi-structured interviews with 20 women, which were then analyzed using a qualitative approach.
