Resumen
The main purpose of this research is to systematize the experiences within the framework of the Kunta Kinte International Film Festival of the Carabantú Corporation in order to learn about its contribution to local development and to the innovation and social transformation of the Afro-descendant population of the city of Medellín. A research with a qualitative approach, integral hermeneutic scope, was carried out through the hypothetical-deductive method, based on the systematization of experiences and the collection of information through the application of semi-structured interviews to seven actors involved in the process carried out by the Corporation, including one of its founders. From the results referenced in this research, it is concluded that the experiences of the Carabantú Corporation throughout its history have contributed to the vindication of the Afro-descendant population of the city of Medellin, along with the recognition and dignification of their fundamental rights; all this, through ethno-educational projects based on film and its Afro-community film festival that has been held in recent years, with the audiovisual products made by the participants of these projects. Likewise, although some social problems still persist, its contributions to local development and social innovation are represented in the collaborative work with other social organizations and with different public entities, with which it has managed to strengthen the institutional framework for the benefit of this population, for the improvement of their quality of life and the strengthening of their collective memory.

El propósito principal de la presente investigación es sistematizar las experiencias en el marco del Festival de Internacional de Cine Kunta Kinte de la Corporación Carabantú para conocer su aporte al desarrollo local y a la innovación y transformación social de la población afrodescendiente de la ciudad de Medellín. Se realizó una investigación con enfoque cualitativo y alcance hermenéutico integral a través del método hipotético-deductivo, basado en la sistematización de experiencias y la recolección de la información aplicando entrevistas semiestructuradas a siete actores involucrados en el proceso llevado a cabo por la Corporación, incluyendo a uno de sus fundadores. De los resultados referenciados en esta investigación, se concluye que las experiencias de la Corporación Carabantú a lo largo de su trayectoria han contribuido con la reivindicación de la población afrodescendiente de la ciudad de Medellín, junto con el reconocimiento y dignificación de sus derechos fundamentales, a través de los proyectos etnoeducativos basados en el cine y su festival de cine afrocomunitario que se ha venido realizando en los últimos años, con los productos audiovisuales realizados por los participantes de estos proyectos. Así mismo, aunque aún persisten algunas problemáticas sociales, sus aportes al desarrollo local y a la innovación social están representados en el trabajo colaborativo con otras organizaciones sociales y con diferentes entidades públicas, con las cuales ha logrado fortalecer la institucionalidad en beneficio de esta población, para el mejoramiento de su calidad de vida y el fortalecimiento de su memoria colectiva.
