The mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the area of electricity generation is caused by many factor such as macroeconomics variables, technology, and institutions of the countries. In this document we chose different variables from the groups mentioned earlier with the target to analyze the behavior of the M&A with regard to the variables chosen. This was stimulated with a model based in the metodogic panel data with fixed effect. Our findings include the macroeconomics variables chosen aren't significant in the model, while the institutions vary significantly at 10% as well as with some of the electric generation tecnologies

La fusión y adquisiciones (M&A) en el área de generación de electricidad es causada por muchos factores como variables macroeconómicas, tecnología e instituciones de los países. En este documento se eligieron diferentes variables de los grupos mencionados anteriormente con el objetivo de analizar el comportamiento de las fusiones y adquisiciones respecto a las variables elegidas. Esto fue estimulado con un modelo basado en la metodologic datos de panel con efecto fijo. Nuestros hallazgos incluyen las variables macroeconómicas elegidas que no son significativas en el modelo, mientras que las instituciones varían significativamente al 10% al igual que con algunas de las tecnologías de generación eléctrica.
