La valoración de dos culturas del pasado, el budismo y el helenismo, y su sabiduría en La muerte de Marko Kralievitch de Marguerite Yourcenar y La muerte del estratega de Álvaro Mutis
Abstract
El presente artículo tiene como propósito comparar los cuentos “La muerte de Marko Kralievitch” de Marguerite Yourcenar y “La muerte del estratega” de Álvaro Mutis -- Para ello, se consideran los conceptos de poder y muerte y su valor en dos culturas orientales del pasado: el budismo y el helenismo, las cuales dan dinamismo a las acciones de los protagonistas, Marko y Alar -- El encuentro con lo otro les permite resolver su conflicto interno entre el ser y el deber ser, actitud que queda sugerida para el lector contemporáneo desde la configuración narrativa
Abstract
This article has as main purpose, to compare the tales "La muerte de Marko Kralievitch" written by Marguerite Yourcenar and “La muerte del estratega” by Alvaro Mutis -- For this, the concepts of power and death based on their value in two Eastern cultures of the past are considered: Buddhism and Hellenism, in which both give dynamism to the actions of the characters, Marko and Alar -- The encounter with the exotic allows them to solve their internal conflict between what is and what should be, attitude that is suggested to the contemporary reader from the narrative configuration
