dc.description	El presente trabajo explora la competencia de la escucha activa como una habilidad esencial en la educación superior, diferenciándola del simple acto de oír. Con éste se busca destacar la importancia de esta competencia en los procesos de aprendizaje y comunicación en el contexto universitario. Para ello se implementó una metodología cualitativa, enfocada en el análisis crítico de investigaciones y teorías sobre el tema en aras de construir un marco teórico y crítico sobre el mismo desde las perspectivas cognitiva, ética y pedagógica. Entre los hallazgos clave, se subraya cómo una escucha activa fortalece el desarrollo de habilidades comunicativas, la memoria, la comprensión y el análisis crítico, favoreciendo un ambiente de retroalimentación continua y colaboración en el aula. Dado esto, se concluye que la escucha activa contribuye asimismo a la adquisición de conocimientos complejos y al desarrollo de la empatía, factores que son cruciales en el contexto universitario multicultural. Asimismo, se resalta la necesidad de incorporar estrategias cognitivas y metacognitivas que fortalezcan esta habilidad y contribuyan a fomentar un aprendizaje significativo y participativo.
dc.description.abstract	This paper explores the competence of active listening as an essential skill in higher education, differentiating it from the simple act of hearing. It seeks to highlight the importance of this competence in the learning and communication processes in the university context. To this end, a qualitative methodology was used, focused on the critical analysis of research and theories on the subject to build a theoretical and critical framework on the subject from cognitive, ethical, and pedagogical perspectives. Key findings include how active listening strengthens the development of communication skills, memory, comprehension, and critical analysis, fostering an environment of continuous feedback and collaboration in the classroom. Given this, it is concluded that active listening also contributes to the acquisition of complex knowledge and the development of empathy, factors that are crucial in the multicultural university context. Likewise, the need to incorporate cognitive and metacognitive strategies that strengthen this ability and contribute to promoting meaningful and participatory learning is highlighted.
