    Salud Mental en Estudiantes Universitarios Colombianos: Factores de Riesgo y Protección

    This study by Alianza 4U (EAFIT, Icesi, Universidad del Norte, and CESA) examined the mental health of 1,200 Colombian university students (ages 18-28) through a cross-sectional design, April-June 2025. Findings show higher anxiety, depression, and stress among women, and significant regional differences, but none between public and private institutions. General wellbeing was the strongest predictor of depression and anxiety; substance use, peer aggression, and poor sleep also increased risk. Depression almost fully mediated these factors' effect on suicidal ideation.
