    The present article will try to relate the facts, spaces and characters of the story of the novel El Espantapájaros with the history of Colombia violence, analyzing what happens throughout the description of a massacre and role of the characters as victims and victimizers -- On doing clear these coincidences between violence and the novel, we will seek to confirm that what happens in the narrated story wants to represent what has happened throughout the war history in the country, and El Espantapájaros, could be taken as a memory novel
