    Análisis descriptivo de la pieza “Cantos Morenos” para cuarteto de cuerdas y percusiones

    This paper aspires to show the creative process carried out for the composition of the piece "Cantos Morenos" based on rhythms and musical themes from the Colombian South Pacific. For this, a description of the concepts that frame this work was made, such as the dialogue between popular music and contemporary musical composition, the vanguard located and the music of the South Pacific. At the same time, the search and audition of pieces for string quartet and percussion was carried out, which allowed us to recognize the timbral possibilities of this instrumental combination. As a result, was gotten a descriptive analysis of the piece for this ensemble. This publication aspires to enrich future dialogues where popular music is a source of motifs and musical themes in contemporary musical composition.
