Ítem Coloquio sobre innovación y el licenciamiento de la tecnología(Universidad EAFIT, 1997) Betancur, Juan; Universidad EAFITÍtem Conceptos básicos sobre la tecnología(Universidad EAFIT, 1998) Betancur, Juan; Universidad EAFITÍtem Modelo conceptual para el funcionamiento de una oficina de transferencia de tecnología en la Universidad del Quindío(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) García Wagner, Claudia Lorena; Zartha Sossa, Jhon Wilder; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz AmparoTechnology Transfer (TT) has been playing an important role in the exchange of capacities of universities towards industries, having a close relationship with increasing levels of innovation and competitiveness for the regions -- That is the reason why more and more universities have committed themselves to strategies that strengthen the Technology Transfer mechanisms within them and that give them greater visibility in the regional and national environment -- In this dissertation, the development of a conceptual model for implementing an Office of Technology Transfer (OTT) at the University of Quindío (UQ) was proposed, since although the university has been involved in this aspect for a couple of years, it does not yet have a defined structure for the development of an area with the essential characteristics for the commercialization of technologies -- When looking for the best model, an analysis is made of the evolution of the concept and the TT process focusing on universities in the regional and global context, as well as different conceptual models over time -- These conceptual models, along with the characteristics of the UQ and its current situation, help to define the model, trying to satisfy with it the needs of both the university and the regionÍtem Spin-off como estrategia de transferencia de investigación a la industria: Estudio de caso Universidad EAFIT(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Villegas Cuadros, Juliana; Cárdenas Díaz, Juan Camilo; López González, CristinaCurrently the university has established strategies that allow it to use its resources in the creation of companies that contribute to the development of their research-extension function and that at the same time allow them to obtain economic benefits, one of the figures that has been used for this is the spin-off, which in practice has some ambiguity in the terminology used (Narváez et al., 2016) and also in the way in which the creation process is carried out, especially in the Colombian universities, therefore, the purpose of this research is to develop a descriptive case where is documented and analyzed how Universidad EAFIT in Colombia carries out the process of transfer of research to the industry under the figure of university spin-off, in order to achieve this purpose it was approached methodologically the descriptive case study using the method of Robert Yin, widely recognized and used in Postgraduate research -- Initially, the theories and concepts associated with the research transfer strategy between university and industry through technology-based companies such as spin-offs were identified in the literature -- Subsequently, the case study was developed taking into account its five components (design, preparation and collection of information, analysis and presentation of results), which relied heavily on the collection of primary information from interviews to a group of people divided in five categories: process leaders, staff, researchers, leaders of the spin-offs and external personnel -- Finally, the analysis of these interviews was carried out, and they were confronted with secondary information, which allowed us to outline the process of transferring research of Universidad EAFIT through the spin-off -- This allowed having as relevant findings that the creation of spin-offs contributes to the fulfillment of the third mission of the university, also a source of alternative financing for the institution -- Likewise, the progress made in Colombia with respect to these issues is highlighted, as evidenced by the guidelines given in the book Hacia una Hoja de Ruta Spin-off and Law1838 of 2017, which establishes norms that enable Colombian Higher Education (IES) to establish technology-based companies (Spin-Offs)
