Semi-structured interviews were conducted to explore how these users utilize TikTok and whether it significantly affects their mood. Fourteen students from different universities in the city of Medellín, aged between 18 and 23, participated in the study. The findings showed that all participants perceived a change in their mood while using TikTok and/or afterwards. Furthermore, the importance of understanding the influence of social media on young people and the psychosocial phenomena that arise from it are discussed. It was concluded that excessive use of social media can have a negative impact on people's emotional well-being.
