We managed to discriminate the analysis by economic sectors using a new module presented in the Encuesta Pulso Empresarial (EPE) of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) in 2022. The module collects data from more than 8,500 companies on the adoption, reasons for use and non-use of AI technologies. During the investigation, we discovered that organizing administrative processes is one of the main issues that the implementation of AI would solve. Nonetheless, high acquisition costs and lack of experienced personnel capable of using AI makes its implementation more difficult. Through a probability model, it is evident that, among other factors, using the Internet, digital platforms, investing in software equipment, carrying out research and development activities, increase the probability of adopting AI technologies. These research adds as an innovative element a set of variables considering perceptions and expectations that companies have related to present and future economic situations and its influence on the adoption of AI technologies.Ítem Análisis Decreto 806 de 2020 y Código General del proceso, cambios en el sistema procesal oral(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Montoya Díaz, Jenny; Posada Botero, José DavidThis monographic study will address the key new ideas of Decree 806 of 2020, which implements information and communication technologies in judicial actions carried out in Colombia. In this endeavor, adopting an interdisciplinary perspective grounded in media ecology theory and actor–network theory (ANT), two contrasting scenarios of this interaction are explored. On the one hand, mutualism, where humans and artificial species collaborate to improve the efficiency and quality of the creative process, is presented through the analysis of ScriptBook and Cinelytic, two of the most important used AI tools in the film industry. In addition, the dystopian threat is raised, where AI could replace human scriptwriters in the audiovisual media ecosystem, as illustrated by the strike of the Hollywood producers’ and screenwriters’ unions in 2023. These scenarios raise questions about the future of the industry and the coevolution between humans and AI through the concept of mutation. Emphasis is placed on the need to adapt to these transformations, recognizing the fundamental role of researchers and society in monitoring the relationship between humans and AI to understand its potential for co-creation and coevolution. Finally, the importance of agile adaptation to a constantly changing media ecosystem is underscored as an essential task to fully leverage the potential of hybrid intelligence and ensure the survival of the human species in this new technological paradigm.Ítem Conversemos sobre educación, liderazgo y tecnología(Medellín : Universidad EAFIT, 2022-10-14) Universidad EAFIT; Restrepo Montoya, Claudia Patricia, 1975-; Vélez, David, 1975-; Universidad EAFITÍtem Conversemos sobre emociones y educación(Medellín : Universidad EAFIT, 2022-08-04) Otálvaro Guzmán, Viviana; Restrepo Montoya, Claudia Patricia, 1975-; Zea Restrepo, Claudia; Universidad EAFIT. Consequently, this monograph focuses on providing an analysis of the Decree 806 of 2020, verifying whether its permanence over time is possible and advisable, as well as highlighting the virtues of the use of technology in judicial processes in Colombia.Ítem Design and implementation of a low-cost projected virtual reality system to support learning processes(Springer Verlag, 2011-01-01) Gómez, R.; Trefftz, H.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesVirtual Reality technologies have been successfully incorporated into the learning processes and potential new applications in education are explored continuously. We found that one of the difficulties to popularize its use in the educational context, in countries with emerging and developing economies, is the cost of hardware required to generate satisfactory immersive experience. In this work we considered virtual reality from the perspective of human-computer interaction to support learning processes. The characteristics of low-cost projected virtual reality system (PVR) proposed, combines study and integration of available technology solutions, the development of an image synchronization routine that enables the use of a single video projector and the design of a printable pattern that preserve the state of polarization on the projection screen. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.Ítem Diagnóstico de los procesos designados a los proyectos como efecto de la eliminación de la PMO en Bancolombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Arango Gómez, Laura María; Garnica Barraza, Ernesto JoséBancolombia is a financial institution supervised by the Superintendency of Colombia, as part of the transformation process that this industry is undergoing in areas such as technology, this organization seeks evolution based on speed and adaptation to the new environment to meet its purposes and achieve its strategic goals and maintain a competitive advantage. Tecnología, estrategia y largas cadenas de acción(Universidad de los Andes, Bogota Colombia, 2015-01-01) Kleinschmidt, J.The main thesis of this article is that the increasing recourse to the use of unmanned aerial systems in asymmetric warfare and the beginning routinization of U.S. drone operations represent part of an evolutionary change in the spatial ordering of global politics. Using a heuristic framework based on actor-network theory, it is argued that practices of panoptic observation and selective airstrikes, being in need of legal justification, contribute to a reterritorialization of asymmetric conflicts. Under a new normative spatial regime, a legal condition of state immaturity is constructed, which establishes a zone of conditional sovereignty subject to transnational aerial policing. At the same time, this process is neither a deterministic result of the new technology nor a deliberate effect of policies to which drones are merely neutral instruments. Rather, military technology and political decisions both form part of a long chain of action which has evolved under the specific circumstances of recent military interventions.Ítem Elementos claves en la evaluación de la rentabilidad a partir de la implementación de la banca digital en la banca tradicional : caso de aplicación en bancos colombianos.(2019) Quijano Ayala, Paula Andrea; Dávila Jiménez, Lina Fernanda; Orozco, CésarColombia, a developing country, is currently in the stage of transformation to digital banking, which leads to a process that must be faced by all actors in the financial sector.
