    Public policies aim to address various types of public issues that affect a specific sector. The Public Policy for Alternative, In dependent, Citizen, and Community Media and Communication Processes in Medellín, which came into effect in 2019, seeks to contribute to the strengthening of all stakeholders in the sector and ensure the right to communication in the city. Additionally, it aims to support economic, social, and legal sustainability. Although the development of this policy is still in its early stages, this work intends to provide an initial analysis of its implementation and the main challenges for subsequent phases. Thus, th is text presents a review of some categories framed within the right to communication and how much the public policy has favored the strengthening of media and communication processes and, through its qualification, its impact on the public sphere.

    Estructura de capital óptima para la sostenibilidad del sector de transporte de carga en Colombia

    The research focuses on the analysis of economic sustainability in the road freight transportation sector in Colombia, which highlights the influence of external variables, such as the price of the dollar and costs in the operation of this sector. Despite the constant increase in operating costs, freight prices fluctuate due to various factors, which poses a challenge to the profitability of companies. The main objective is to determine an optimal capital structure for small and medium-sized companies in the sector, considering factors such as financing, debt management and long-term investment needs. To this end, an analysis of freight costs and prices is carried out, as well as a review of national practices in terms of capital structure in freight transportation, to contrast it with a linear regression model. Recommendations are offered to improve the financial sustainability of PYMES in this sector.

    Riesgo financiero en las modalidades de contratación en salud : su efecto en la sostenibilidad económica de una IPS pública en Medellín

    This paper analyzes the effect of the financial risk of contracting modalities in health, on the economic sustainability of a public health care service provider institution in Medellín (Colombia). For this purpose, a qualitative case study is developed from the intrinsic case typology. For the data collection, interviews were conducted with experts, managers and administrative staff of the institution under study, as well as review of institutional documents. For the coding of the information, matrixes were used in Excel and qualitative research software Atlas.ti, version 8.2.34. Within the results of the case, there are four categories of financial risk: market, liquidity, credit and operation, as well as factors that generate this risk from the economic, geopolitical and institutional. It is emphasized that the effect of financial risk on economic sustainability is the irruption in growth and financial viability on the IPS. There, challenges are established to mitigate the financial risk in the entity analyzed. Thus, this work makes contributions in the field of Risk Management, especially for health studies practitioners.
