However, there are fewer alternatives when it comes to supporting in aesthetic evaluation during the product design stages. Therefore, is proposed a Crowdsourcing Augmented Reality Environment (CARE) that use the user's mobile devices for getting the feedback from the evaluation of products using a Semantic Differential (SD) that consider the user's context-light interaction in real time. Finally, two products were evaluated using CARE vs. the real products under different lighting and surrounding conditions. Obtaining a similar measure of products aesthetic perception between CARE and the real product, with slight variations. Departamento de Ciencias; Lógica y ComputaciónWe present a generic scheme for the declarative debugging of functional logic programs which is valid for eager as well as lazy programs. In particular we show that the framework extends naturally some previous work and applies to the most modern lazy strategies, such as needed narrowing. First we associate to our programs a semantics based on a (continuous) immediate consequence operator, TR, which models computed answers. We show that, given the intended specification of a program R, it is possible to check the correctness of R by a single step of TR. We consider then a more effective methodology which is based on abstract interpretation: by approximating the intended specification of the success set we derive a finitely terminating diagnosis method, which can be used statically and is parametric w.r.t. to the chosen approximation. In order to correct the bugs, we sketch a preliminary deductive approach which uses example-guided unfolding. We specialize the incorrect rules w.r.t. sets of positive and negative examples which are gathered (bottom-up) during the diagnosis process, so that all refutations of negative examples and no refutation of positive examples are excluded. Our debugging framework does not require the user to either provide error symptoms in advance or answer difficult questions concerning program correctness. The main goal is to design home decor products for a world leading company: Umbra. This paper presents a case description of a university-industry collaboration (taking into account previews experiences with other local industries) in which outlines the course's methodology based on Umbra's design contest: to explore fresh and original designs, within the international format collaborations.umbra.com. It describes the company's briefing, the design process and the feedback from the company. One of the biggest motivations is that students have the opportunity to design for an international company and have the possibility that their products could be chosen to be produce by Umbra. Among the skills students develop are the ability to read the company's language to understand its brand identity, as well as to increase the application of design tools such as mood boards [1], emotional design [2], the use of semantic adjectives [3] and the use of the formal referent as an inspiring element. The new product must fulfil three requirements: original, practical and keep brand identity, in order to fit Umbra's brief. The most relevant aspect of the course is the professional training students receive in refining the product's form and aesthetics- to adjust the design to the consumer preferences- and how the methodology course enhances student skills, such as creativity and sensibility, in order to get prepare for their out coming mandatory industrial semester.Ítem Development of a tongue machine interface for quadriplegic patients(DESIGN SOC, 2017-01-01) Velásquez-López A.; Velásquez-Rendón D.; Amaya-Quiroz J.S.; Jimenez-Franco L.D.; Trefftz H.This article presents the development and validation of a wheelchair mobility solution. The solution is based on a Tongue Machine Interface (TMI) involving the use of Force Sensing Resistors (FSRs). The semantics and functionality of the development are compared with two other interfaces: a Joystick and a Brain Computer Interface (BCI) implemented on the same wheelchair. Each development is described from the electric, mechanic and informatic domains. Surveys and user's tests were performed in order to explore which technology had a more positive impact on the mobility of quadriplegic persons in terms of effectiveness, better ergonomics, lower costs and better functionality. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesWe can program a Real-Time (RT) music improvisation system in C++ without a formal semantic or we can model it with process calculi such as the Non-deterministic Timed Concurrent Constraint (ntcc) calculus. “A Concurrent Constraints Factor Oracle (FO) model for Music Improvisation” (Ccfomi) is an improvisation model specified on ntcc. Since Ccfomi improvises non-deterministically, there is no control on choices and therefore little control over the sequence variation during the improvisation. To avoid this, we extended Ccfomi using the Probabilistic Non-deterministic Timed Concurrent Constraint calculus. Our extension to Ccfomi does not change the time and space complexity of building the FO, thus making our extension compatible with RT. However, there was not a ntcc interpreter capable of RT to execute Ccfomi. We developed Ntccrt -a RT capable interpreter for ntcc- and we executed Ccfomi on Ntccrt. The conditions are defined in terms of a depth (associated with the modal connective) and a complexity function. It is proven that the logics obtained are characterized by a subtle adaptation of the possible worlds semantics in which levels are associated with the worlds. Restricted normal modal logics constitute a general framework allowing the definition of a huge variety of modal systems, which can have different applications. For instance, they are useful to define epistemic logics where the logical omniscience problem is partially controlled. © 2014 The Author.Ítem Spatiotemporal Modeling of Urban Growth Using Machine Learning(MDPI AG, 2019-12-28) Duque, J.; Jorge E. Departamento de Economía y Finanzas; Research in Spatial Economics (RISE)This paper presents a general framework for modeling the growth of three important variables for cities: population distribution, binary urban footprint, and urban footprint in color. The framework models the population distribution as a spatiotemporal regression problem using machine learning, and it obtains the binary urban footprint from the population distribution through a binary classifier plus a temporal correction for existing urban regions. The framework estimates the urban footprint in color from its previous value, as well as from past and current values of the binary urban footprint using a semantic inpainting algorithm. By combining this framework with free data from the Landsat archive and the Global Human Settlement Layer framework, interested users can get approximate growth predictions of any city in the world. These predictions can be improved with the inclusion in the framework of additional spatially distributed input variables over time subject to availability. Unlike widely used growth models based on cellular automata, there are two main advantages of using the proposed machine learning-based framework. Firstly, it does not require to define rules a priori because the model learns the dynamics of growth directly from the historical data. Secondly, it is very easy to train new machine learning models using different explanatory input variables to assess their impact. As a proof of concept, we tested the framework in Valledupar and Rionegro, two Latin American cities located in Colombia with different geomorphological characteristics, and found that the model predictions were in close agreement with the ground-truth based on performance metrics, such as the root-mean-square error, zero-mean normalized cross-correlation, Pearson's correlation coefficient for continuous variables, and a few others for discrete variables such as the intersection over union, accuracy, and the f1 metric.
