Method: Qualitative study with descriptive approach, using a semi-structured interview to 12 Human Resources professionals in companies of Antioquia as an instrument of information collection. Results: The participants of the study are aligned with the definition of mental health issued by the OMS. Most of the promotion and prevention practices respond to compliance with legal regulations. Promotion and intervention practices are developed with our own resources and with the support of external entities. Most of the interviewees expressed that the Human Management area played a more leading role, due to the need to accompany people in the face of the uncertainty experienced as a result of the pandemic. They recommend leaders and companies in general to promote knowledge on mental health issues in order to favor support and early identification of mental health problems and to articulate the programs with the organization's strategy, while ARLs are recommended to provide support with new strategies, without discriminating the size of the company. Most of the participants state that they themselves are responsible for the care of their mental health. Conclusion: The concept of mental health corresponds to the OMS definition, practices for the promotion and prevention of health are applied, assuming a strategic role in the organization.Ítem Conversemos sobre emociones y educación(Medellín : Universidad EAFIT, 2022-08-04) Otálvaro Guzmán, Viviana; Restrepo Montoya, Claudia Patricia, 1975-; Zea Restrepo, Claudia; Universidad EAFIT. The research applies the UNIDO methodology, which systematically evaluates the technical, financial, legal, environmental, and market aspects of the project. The proposal is based on Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy (MBAT), an approach that integrates mindfulness techniques meditation, yoga, conscious breathing with artistic and sensory activities, such as clay modeling, mandalas, chromotherapy, and aromatherapy. The goal is to activate all five senses to promote emotional self regulation and balance between body and mind. The concept arises in response to the global increase in mental health problems, intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic. In Colombia, more than 60% of the population has experienced some issue in this area, with limited access to early care. This highlights the need for preventive and complementary approaches to traditional treatments. The study includes sector and environmental analysis, market research, technical design, regulatory review, financial evaluation, and risk analysis. A mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) is adopted, using surveys and tools such as PESTEL and Porter’s Five Forces. The results of the sector analysis show low direct competition and limited threat from new entrants, although with high bargaining power on the part of clients. The PESTEL analysis reveals a favorable political and legal framework, sustained growth in the wellness sector, increasing social awareness of mental health, technological opportunities, and a marked trend toward environmental sustainability. Market research in Medellín, focused on middle and high-income segments, confirms interest and willingness to pay for comprehensive wellness services. The technical study defines location, space distribution, supplies, and staff profiles; the administrative component proposes an efficient organizational structure; and the legal analysis establishes the licensing, tax, and environmental requirements necessary for operation. From a financial standpoint, the study calculates initial investment, capital structure, revenue projections, and operating costs, resulting in positive profitability indicators. The risk analysis identifies threats in operational, legal, commercial, and financial areas, proposing mitigation strategies to ensure sustainability. In summary, the study demonstrates that conducting a full feasibility assessment is viable, as all evaluated aspects show positive outcomes and the project has strong potential for market differentiation. Its innovative therapeutic approach, backed by scientific evidence, positions it as an effective and sustainable alternative to promote mental health and overall well-being in the Colombian context.Publicación Evaluación expost bajo la metodología de marco lógico del programa de salud mental del Municipio de Envigado : plan de desarrollo 2016 2019 “Vivir mejor un compromiso con Envigado”(Universidad EAFIT, 2020) Garcia Espinosa, Bibiana; Díez Benjumea, Jhon Miguel; Molina Pérez, SergioThe following research exercise had as general objective: to do an ex-post assessment under the logical framework methodology from the Envigado City Mental Health Program, 2016 – 2019. Being a documentary and comparative research, I started with the official information provided by the city administration. This exercise started from general aspects to specific headlines. The selected indicators are those that relate to efficiency, effectiveness, and relevance, formulating considerations of conceptual and technical order. It was possible to conclude and recommend the importance of creating a specific department that coordinates the activities related to mental health. In the same way, the establishment of a public mental health policy was proposed as urgent, in a way that the initiatives in this regard can’t be delegitimized across time and by changes in government. Finally, a greater strictness concerning the delivery of the results paperwork by the hired operators is proposed. One of the most evident findings was the lack of a baseline, the duplicity in the execution of the actions, the lack of personnel with sufficiency about planning and projects, and the late execution of some activities of the program studied. Even though we did not experience major difficulties meeting the objectives, insufficiency was found in the information previous to 2016. The development of the Master Thesis was shared with an official liaison appointed by the department of local health.Ítem Experiencia emocional en la salud física y mental en los adultos mayores del municipio de Sabaneta Antioquia(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Ariza Medina, María Astrid; Villamizar Reyes, Milena MargaritaPublicación Experiencias del cuidado en madres de adolescentes con discapacidad cognitiva del municipio de La Estrella (Colombia)(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Cano Torres, Karina; Córdoba Sánchez, VerónicaPublicación Intervención comportamental para aumentar la intención de expresar emociones en hombres de la ciudad de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Sanclemente Pérez, Valentina; Abisaad Janna, Mariam; Lemos Hoyos, MariantoniaPublicación Los efectos de las cargas laborales en la salud mental de los trabajadores en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Marín Zapata, Simón Jairo; Villamizar Reyes, Milena MargaritaThe main focus of this study is to present the current state of research on workload and the possible effects on mental health of workers in Colombia based on psychosocial risk factors in organizations and their main consequences. It also brought to the table topics that have been little explored and even little thought about, especially in mental health. His arrival reordered and modified the science agenda worldwide and opened the door to analysis from the social sciences as well. For this reason, studies have emerged that cover topics related to behavioral sciences, new ways of establishing interpersonal relationships and impacts on cognitive and professional development, among others. In addition, they take into account segmentations such as, for example, population groups, countries and gender.Publicación ¿Quién se pregunta por ellas?
