Ítem Clarinetistas y salud física : una mirada a las lesiones musculoesqueléticas en clarinetistas de la ciudad de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Arango Ospina, Eliana Patricia; Manco, Juan DavidThis article aims to identify the most recurrent musculoskeletal injuries in clarinet musicians in the city of Medellín, recognize their causes and consequences, and propose the importance of care for their prevention. After contextualizing the topic through existing literature, a survey was conducted among seven active professional clarinetists and seven student clarinetists. The results revealed that all respondents experienced some form of illness or pain related to clarinet practice. Pathologies such as hand tendonitis and upper body pains were mentioned, commonly associated with poor habits and improper instrument practices, all acquired from the early years of study. It is concluded that clarinetists in the city of Medellín are exposed to a high risk of developing injuries due to various factors. These issues appear to be recurrent and can have a significant impact on the physical health of musicians.
