The social representations will be approached from the definition of Serge Moscovici, who argues that they have three dimensions: information, field of representations and attitude. In regard of motherhood, will be considerate previous research about the ways that has been conceived of motherhood over time and the motherhood as a phenomenon that varies across time, place and culture. The part of the concept of social representations about old age and aging as the way to obtain the knowledge of the conventional reality and accessible to a common sense as a socially elaborated production, like a starting point of the meaning arising from social interaction. The information was obtained from surveys, interviews and observation of groups of women: young people from 18 to 25 years old and older than 50 to 60 years of the Eafit University, based on a qualitative approach. The main findings indicate that there is a difference in relation to perception, attitude and the figurative core with respect to the current moment of life, and that it is not the same to be in the stage of youth to the stage of old age. In addition, the difficulty of generalizing the characteristics of life in human beings must be taken into account, just as each person reaches adulthood with the various learning activities acquired in the socio-cultural contexts in which they develop. The social representations will be approached according to the definition of some authors and the one that makes of them Moscovici, who affirms that they are composed of three dimensions: information, the field of representation and attitude; to finally contrast them with the relationship with their physical self-concept. Method: qualitative study with a phenomenological - hermeneutic approach based on semi-structured interviews with ten young women (women) between 18 and 25 years old. Results: there is a negative social representation of young people in front of beauty ideals in social networks, and although there is no negative effect on self-concept in these subjects, there is an influence of the ideal of beauty, when they upload photos to networks or when they observe them.
