Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica; Estudios en Mantenimiento (GEMI)The present study exposes an analysis of the suspension system technical state evaluation for civil vehicles that have been subject to armouring processes. Such evaluation is performed through a mechanised revision established by state regulation and is based on the method defined by EuSAMA. The development of this analysis focuses on establishing the existing relation between the ballistic resistance integrated to a vehicle and the dynamic effect exercised for the modification of its mass, according to two reliability/safety driving measurement criteria: (i) tyre-road adhesion index and (ii) tyre excitation phase angle. The study proposes new elements to the current procedure established to evaluate the suspension of civil armoured cars considering the two measurement criteria, which can be acquired by a standard commercial suspension tester machine. Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica; Estudios en Mantenimiento (GEMI)Many structural elements are exposed to load conditions that are difficult to model during the design phase, such as environmental uncertainties, random impacts, and overloading, amongst others, thus increasing unprogrammed maintenance and reducing confidence in the reliability of the structure in question. One way to deal with this problem is to monitor the structural condition of the element. This approach requires supervising several signals coming from critical locations and then performing an accurate condition estimation of the element in question based on the data collected. This study implements a method to diagnose and evaluate the reliability of the bolster beam structure of the railway vehicle during a fatigue test. The results show that multidimensional monitoring not only diagnoses the element accurately but also results in correct estimation of reliability. Then, the most relevant variables for the excavation stability in tunnels were selected. These variables were characterized using their probability function, average and standard deviation values. A primary support design was made, in a virtual tunnel, using the typical section of a road tunnel with two lanes. This design contemplated a good quality rock mass, with a RMR (Rock Mass Rating) with values between 50 and 80 (GSI between 43 and 75). The primary support design considered tenso-deformational and fall wedge analysis. Two primary support alternatives were proposed. For each support alternative, two types of analyzes were carried out: deterministic and probabilistic. In deterministic analyses, the input data were the average values of the variables. In probabilistic analysis were used input random variables (including the excavation radius). Finally, a quantitative comparison, utilizing expected costs, between the two design alternatives was elaborated. According to the obtained results, it is possible to point out that reliability design methods are fundamental tools in the project evaluation risk. In the same way, the design with a probabilistic approach allows identifying variables with greater weight in the models used to evaluate stability and therefore focus efforts on having a detailed estimate of these random variables.Ítem Mantenimiento y costos de gestión en un sector empresarial en el Valle de Aburrá(Universidad EAFIT, 2009) Lozano Arias, Oscar José; Vallejo Jaramillo, Juan SantiagoÍtem Optimal booking location in a serial system with respect to the order of failure rate(Universidad EAFIT, 2005-04-01) Laniado Rodas, Henry; Mejía, Gustavo; Universidad de Antioquia; Universidad EAFITÍtem Validation of a school environment survey among Colombian teachers(Springer Netherlands, 2017-10-01) Pablo Roman, Juan; Londoño, M.O.; Garcés Ceballos, José DavidThe article explores the validity and reliability of an instrument for measuring for the School Environment (SE) among 3610 teachers in Medellín, Colombia during 2011. A multilevel exploratory factorial analysis established through 20 items that the instrument identifies four dimensions of SE on an individual level: communication between school and teachers, between teachers and parents, teacher involvement in school decisions, sense of security (respect-safeness) and academic expectations. At a group level, the same items measure a general dimension of SE. Based upon these analyses, the instrument produced a valid and reliable school environment measure that differentiates among schools. © 2017, Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.Ítem La valoración de la prueba científica del ADN en los procesos de filiación en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2013) Osorno Muñoz, Laura Catalina; Morales Vallejo, Raúl Eduardo
