Ítem Incidencia recíproca entre situaciones familiares críticas y el desempeño laboral en un grupo de funcionarios del área de gestión humana de una entidad pública de la ciudad de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Londoño Chavarría, Sandra Milena; Gallo García, Dorys Norelle; Macía Serna, María IsabelThe performance of people at work has been a subject of study and permanent concern in organizations, hence the field is interested in how to ensure that workers are motivated and ready to contribute to the companies or entities in which they work. However, they do not always take into consideration the different variables that may have an impact on the performance of the employees who perform their daily work, ignoring personal and/or family aspects that may have a great influence on the results expected by the directors or managers of any organization. The purpose of the current research was to investigate the reciprocal incidence between critical family situations and work performance in a group of employees of the human resources area of a public entity in the city of Medellin, Colombia. This is based on a qualitative approach study, using the concepts of family, work, and performance as referents. And making use of the semi-structured interview instrument for the collection of information. As results, it was found that there is no reciprocal incidence between the two areas work-family, in which the two parties present a complementary relationship between the two spheres. Likewise, the general tendency of the participating subjects indicates that family relationships have a direct impact on work performance, having as repercussions a decrease in rhythm and productivity, and it was also identified that a bad work performance can generate conflicts within the family, discussions, and differences among its members. As strategies to mediate between the work and family environments, it is proposed that the subjects should try to differentiate the work environment from the family environment and pay attention to their priorities in different situations. In addition, emphasis is placed on the importance of the support of organizations in the implementation of programs that motivate and encourage good work performance, helping to overcome family difficulties. Finally, future researchers are invited to delve deeper into this topic in favor of mental health and the reduction of psychosocial risk in the work and family environments
