This case study analyses a small hydro-powered generation station (SHGS) owned by a local energy firm. The aim is to evaluate the financial viability under the local legal framework established by laws 1715 of 2014 and 1819 of 2016. The methodology used in this study is the discounted free cash flow method (Deterministic and Stochastic) with the aim to determine possible financing alternatives through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV). It includes aspects such as energy sales scenarios in the local MEM market, capital structure (Ek), new taxes regulations established in the financing law (law 1943 of 2018) and the cost of capital.
