Ítem Computational geometry in the preprocessing of point clouds for surface modeling(1998) Ruíz, O.E.; Posada, J.L.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica; Laboratorio CAD/CAM/CAEIn Computer Aided Geometric Design ( CAGD ) the automated fitting of surfaces to massive series of data points presents several difficulties: (i) even the formal definition of the problem is ambiguous because the mathematical characteristics (continuity, for example) of the surface fit are dependent on non-geometric considerations, (ii) the data has an stochastic sampling component that cannot be taken as literal, and, (iii) digitization characteristics, such as sampling interval and directions are not constant, etc -- In response, this investigation presents a set of computational tools to reduce, organize and re-sample the data set to fit the surface -- The routines have been implemented to be portable across modeling or CAD servers -- A case study is presented from the footwear industry, successfully allowing the preparation of a foreign, neutral laser digitization of a last for fitting a B-spline surface to it -- Such a result was in the past attainable only by using proprietary software, produced by the same maker of the digitizing hardwareÍtem Curso de filosofía elemental : lógica / por Jaime Balmes(Paris : Librería de Garnier Hermanos, 1865) Balmes, Jaime Luciano, 1810-1848Ítem Cursos de lojica i ética : según la Escuela de Edimburgo / por José Joaquín de Mora(Bogotá : Imprenta de Nicomedes Lora, 1840) Mora, José Joaquín deÍtem ¿Es posible la argumentación no verbal? : un estado del arte sobre el problema de los argumentos no verbales(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Palacio Florez, Adrián Felipe; Gómez Posada, Júlder AlexanderThis article discusses how recent argumentation studies have attempted to answer the following questions: Are non-verbal arguments possible? If so, what would characterize them? What approach has been adopted to study these types of arguments? Would new criteria be needed to evaluate them or would existing ones be sufficient? To this end, I will first discuss those authors who do not consider non-verbal argumentation possible; then I will focus on the two major projects that do see non-verbal argumentation as a possibility, namely the interpretative project and the normative project; finally, I will offer some examples to try to show the existence of non-verbal arguments. I believe that non- verbal arguments are possible and that, in addition, specialized instruments are not necessary to account for them, but that those that exist at present are sufficient. The growing visuality of culture poses new challenges in the field of argumentation; however, the literature that has dealt with the study of non-verbal arguments is relatively new and not very numerous. Thus, studying the field of non-verbal argumentation to understand the way it is shaping our interactions is a need that must be addressed.Ítem La lógica y la argumentación en la formación analítica de psicólogos(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Jaramillo Appleby, Valentina; Hencio Galeano, Carlos Mario; Manrique Tisnés, HoracioÍtem Theoretical considerations for the articulation of emotion and argumentation : a proposal for emotional regulation in deliberation(2018) González González, Manuela; Gómez Posada, Julder Alexander; Lemos Hoyos, MariantoniaIn this article emotion and its role in argumentation are presented to propose the use of emotional regulation during argumentative encounters, because of the way maladaptive emotions could, in some cases, difficult problem-solving during practical argumentation. To do so, I begin by defining emotions, focusing in primary emotions, considering some of the conceptual aspects of emotion and appraisal. Latter defining argumentation, concentrating in practical argumentation and deliberative dialogues, seen as an argumentative process that looks to decision-making and that could be affected by attention, memory and the adequate use of language; to then state the usual considerations of emotion during argumentation and the function of cognitive frames in emotion, reasoning and argumentation. Highlighting that emotion and argumentation are affected by cognitive processes, or reasoning, and that emotions can influence the argumentative encounter, this article resumes and explains the subject of emotional regulation as a process that could contribute to an adaptive expression of emotion and to a modification of maladaptive emotions, utilizing metacognitive strategies like attentional deployment, cognitive change and response modulation. This proposal centers around the possible contribution of the use these strategies for emotional regulation during deliberative processes, to allow more adaptive emotional responses, leading to better argumentative encounters, more efficient decision – making processes and improvement of the attention, memory and language used in deliberative dialogues.Ítem La transferencia en los procesos de enseñanza aprendizaje en la formación analítica de psicólogos(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Vásquez Villegas, Carolina; Henao Galeano, Carlos Mario
