Estudio de modelos predictivos de insolvencia en el sector de la construcción en Colombia en los periodos pre pandemia y pos pandemia del COVID-19

The purpose of this study is to find the relationship between financial health and the capacity to endure over time COVID-19 in the companies of the macro construction sector in Colombia. The information used for this study comes from the companies that have filed a request to be covered by the Corporate Insolvency Law (Law 1116 in Colombia) from 2020-2022. This data set is compared with companies that are in regular operation at the date of the study, selecting those that have submitted financial information to the SuperSociedades de Colombia (Colombian Superintendence of Corporations). The following insolvency predictive models were used: Z-Score, Logit, and Probit. Different financial and operational performance ratios recommended by the literature were selected, and it was found that most of these failed companies presented economic problems before the pandemic. Additionally, it has been concluded that the Logit model was the one that presented the best predictive power for the macro construction sector in Colombia during the pandemic and post-pandemic period.
