Ítem Estratigrafía holocénica de la sucesión laminada de la Quebrada La Caimana (Santa Fe de Antioquia) aplicada en la reconstrucción paleoclimática y paleoambiental(Universidad EAFIT, 2012) Bayona Fetecua, Gabriel Alberto; Caballero Acosta, José HumbertoThis paleo-environmental reconstruction is based in the analysis of laminated sediment, located along the Cauca River near Santa Fe de Antioquia (Colombia). These sediments form a 15 m succession in a fluvial-lacustrine terrace in the La Caimana Creek (6.5°N; 75.6°W). The micro-basin was identified as a fluvial-lacustrine environment, characterized by being a semi-protected area where periodical rising of the river deposited mud and fine sand periodically. It is suggested that the lamination within the column was originated in response to the P-E conditions at the moment of deposition. Finally, it is presented a cyclostratigraphic analysis obtained from digital processing techniques and spectral analysis, along with an age model based on 14C dating. Some of the samples are interpreted as being reworked; thus, interpretations are presented for a 6.000-2.000 yr-cal BP range. It is suggested that the encountered periodicities could be concordant with climatic phenomena in the region such as ENSO and seasonal variability. Likewise, it is suggested an increase in recurrence and magnitude of these phenomena for recent years.
