Ítem Midiendo la accesibilidad : un caso de estudio en programas de estilo de vida(Universidad EAFIT, 2024) Huang Huang, Sun Yin; Ospina Zapata, Juan Pablo; Guarín-Zapata, NicolásThe travel time dedicated to commuting is a major factor that determines access to city opportunities and services, especially those related to lifestyle programs that also have a limited number of places. Under this idea, access to services depends on a combination between the cost of travel and their availability. Although movement may imply less time consumption, this does not guarantee its availability for real or potential users. Likewise, although there is a great offer, travel time becomes a great barrier to its use. The objective of this study is to analyze the current and potential conditions of access to a variety of equipment and services related to lifestyle, mainly hydroaerobics and yoga programs. To achieve this, accessibility and geographic coverage measures will be used that consider the location of users in the territory, the distribution of facilities, public transportation networks, as well as costs expressed in time or distance and optimal quotas. Additionally, it is complemented with a K-Means model for the analysis of users who use each program to identify potential audiences. The results suggest a center-periphery pattern from both the point of view of origin and destination. While the highest levels of accessibility in hydroaerobics are concentrated towards the north of Medellín, for yoga it moves towards the center and south of the city, places where the largest number of destination points are also located. On the other hand, although no spatial patterns are found in terms of sociodemographic variables, users of hydroaerobics compared to yoga, who tend to have a more diverse audience, are characterized by being older and retired or independent with high loyalty to the program.
