Ítem Alternativas de financiación para un cultivo de limón Tahití de mediana escala en Colombia(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Ramírez Uribe, María Paula; Orozco Echevery, César AugustoThe objective of this research was to determine the financing alternative that offered an adequate balance between the expected profitability and the risk that a medium sized producer is willing to assume in a Tahiti lemon crop to be stablished in Santander, Colombia. Based on the research carried out on the financing alternatives available to producers, it was concluded that for the case under study, only those credits designed to alleviate the impact that high costs have on project flows and that, therefore, generate liquidity. In summary, for this business model the best alternative was debt financing, ideally in times of low interest rates, since low debt costs are needed for the project to generate value; however, it was important to first evaluate the alternatives, since only one of them generated value.Ítem Aplicación de un sistema casi ideal de demanda para el gasto en Colombia en el periodo 1968-2007(Universidad EAFIT, 2010-11) Ramírez Quintero, Juliana; Londoño Cano, Daniel; Ramírez Hassan, AndrésThe present document studies the expenditure of the Colombian economy in the period of 1968-2007. An analysis of the demand elasticity associated with the bulk of total consumption of the representative Colombian is presented in this document; specifically Marshallians and Hicksians own and crossed Price elasticities, in addition to expenditure elasticities; through an Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS), under Seemingly Unrelated Regressions (SUR). The use of the demand theory facilitates to evaluate the conduct of the consumers and their reaction caused by changes in prices and income.Ítem Asociatividad para la competitividad: análisis del caso de los programas de desarrollo empresarial sectorial (Prodes) de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (Pymes) del sector confección en Medellín - Valle de Aburrá en el período 1998-2006(2007) Agudelo Díez, Ana Valeria; Salazar Moreno, Carolina; Cano Gamboa, Carlos AndrésThe textile-confections sectors are one of the most representatives in the World industry. So it is, because its features, especially sensitive to any economic, political, social or cultural change. This sensitivity is specially noticeable in the developing countries that, with lower yield, inferior technology and capacity and a poorer productivity must face a competence more complex every day, and almost inexistent regulation for the foreign product's income and, as a consequence, a helpless internal industry. The objective of this paper is to analyze how one of the associability programs applied in the world and adapted by the association for the Colombian association for the small Industry (ACOPI) for its acronym in Spanish) named Programs for Entrepreneurial sectorial Development (PRODES), has permitted to small and medium size enterprises of the textile-confection sector to defy the market conditions and improve its competitive performance. Associability among enterprises, government, private agents, productive sectors and research groups is a strategy that allows the economic units to make synergies and collective commitments to pursue a common goal.Ítem An Automatic Merge Technique to Improve the Clustering Quality Performed by LAMDA(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2020-01-01) Morales, Luis; Aguilar, Jose; Morales, Luis; Aguilar, Jose; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesClustering is a research challenge focused on discovering knowledge from data samples whose goal is to build good quality partitions. In this paper is proposed an approach based on LAMDA (Learning Algorithm for Multivariable Data Analysis), whose most important features are: a) it is a non-iterative fuzzy algorithm that can work with online data streams, b) it does not require the number of clusters, c) it can generate new partitions with objects that do not have enough similarity with the preexisting clusters (incremental-learning). However, in some applications, the number of created partitions does not correspond with the number of desired clusters, which can be excessive or impractical for the expert. Therefore, our contribution is the formalization of an automatic merge technique to update the cluster partition performed by LAMDA to improve the quality of the clusters, and a new methodology to compute the Marginal Adequacy Degree that enhances the individual-cluster assignment. The proposal, called LAMDA-RD, is applied to several benchmarks, comparing the results against the original LAMDA and other clustering algorithms, to evaluate the performance based on different metrics. Finally, LAMDA-RD is validated in a real case study related to the identification of production states in a gas-lift well, with data stream. The results have shown that LAMDA-RD achieves a competitive performance with respect to the other well-known algorithms, especially in unbalanced benchmarks and benchmarks with an overlapping of around 9%. In these cases, our algorithm is the best, reaching a Rand Index (RI) >98%. Besides, it is consistently among the best for all metrics considered (Silhouette coefficient, modification of the Silhouette coefficient, WB-index, Performance Coefficient, among others) in all case studies analyzed in this paper. Finally, in the real case study, it is better in all the metrics.Ítem Cálculo de los fletes terrestres, tiempos de tránsito y nivel de seguridad para las empresas del Valle de Aburrá y oriente cercano canalizando su comercio exterior por el puerto de Urabá, en el año 2006(2008-04) Zuluaga Vélez, Andrés Gustavo; Calle Mejía, Sebastián; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro ArturoÍtem Competitividad del cluster de la confección en Medellín análisis desde las economías de aglomeración(2008) Vanegas Bedoya, José Julián; Cano Gamboa, Carlos AndrésÍtem Competitividad del sector textil y de confecciones colombianas entre los años de 1996 y 2006(2008) Legarda Parra, Christian; López Pineda, Daniel; Hurtado Rendón, Álvaro ArturoÍtem Comportamiento del empleo en la industria de productos medicinales y farmacéuticos, caso colombiano entre 1997-2003(2006) Martínez Flórez, Luis Eduardo; Roldan Puerta, Ana Isabel; Cano Gamboa, Carlos AndrésÍtem Conferencia dictada a las 2 p.m. del día 16 de abril de 1911(Bogotá : Tip. de Enrique E. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesThe Automatic Process Control course is part of the Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering and Production Engineering programs, offered by EAFIT University (Medellin, Colombia). This course has had a number of reforms in recent years, from two academic spaces to one that contains all the content and features them from theoretical and practical components. With this transformation, was generated the need to reduce the time commitment to each of the thematic, causing learning issues in students. For this reason, we have proposed a new reform in the course through the implementation of a content management model based on competences and supported by the integration of repositories and LMS platforms. This model seeks to train students in the skills defined by the courses and because of this, it is important that the learning process provide mechanisms to validate the skill level of each student, taking into account the outcome of the validation should correspond directly to the skills acquired in the training process. To support this model, there are technological tools as platforms for learning management and learning object repositories that support the online teaching and learning processes, and support the use of standards, generating interoperability, reusability, adaptability and scalability content. © 2014 IEEE.Ítem Design of a competences based teaching model supported in the integration of repositories and LMS platforms for the automatic control of processes course(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Inc., 2015-01-01) Gomez, G.I.C.; Diaz, T.A.G.; Zea, R.C.M.; Zapata, R.L.F.; Universidad EAFIT. We find that the opening up of the economy produced huge changes in the sector's exports and imports since 1992, which had important impacts on employment and production in this sector. Using a fixed effects econometric model, we identify that the value added of the textile sector was negatively affected by tradeopening. Hence, we conclude that trade liberalization was not beneficial for the Colombian textile industry.Ítem Estructura sectorial en las regiones de Colombia un análisis para el período 1992-2005(2008) Macías Bejarano, Andrea; Campo Romero, Eduardo Mario; Cano Gamboa, Carlos AndrésÍtem Estudio de pre factibilidad para producción y comercialización de muebles funcionales de aglomerado para la optimización de espacios(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Cabrera García, Santiago; Gómez Salazar, Elkin ArcesioThe functional chipboard furniture that habits each space or place is important to generate a good feeling and comfort, convenience, tranquility and have a positive social impact.
