Ítem Efectos de la implementación de un centro de servicios compartidos : el caso de la Escuela de Administración de la Universidad Eafit(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) López Ríos, Oscar Alberto; Betancur Hurtado, Carlos MarioObjective: Identify the effect of the implementation of a Shared Services Center (CSC) in the EAFIT University School of Management, based on the perception of the Program Coordinators, professors, employees and students permeated by its service. Method: through the use of semi-structured interviews carried out with those involved in the process, from the perspective of the case study method. Research problem: The administrative services of the graduate programs of the School of Administration were lent in each of the programs, (having some programs more resources than others). This implied that the system presented a high operational load that impeded the optimization of resources and the standardization of processes, causing the coordinators in charge of each program to take charge of ensuring the academic and administrative processes so that they function efficiently, diverting the objective primordial of its functions, directed to the strategic planning of each one of the programs. Population: 24 people from different programs and areas were interviewed, involved in the process that runs the shared services center, among employees, program coordinators, teachers and students belonging to the School of Administration. For the selection of people, a random selection of programs, teachers and students who had most contact with the Center and their willingness to contribute in the research were taken into account. Results: The CSC has been an excellent option to centralize and optimize logistics processes and procedures concerning operational tasks that were previously carried out in different programs by different people and with different results of effectiveness. It saves time and improves efficiency in terms of resource utilization and satisfactory results for the different people involved. In general, there is a high value to the CSC by all the actors in the process, being the coordinators who did not have an assistant and/or monitor those who value it the most. It has been migrated to work from a specificity of each program, to a standardized and standardized generality in the majority of the transactional processes of the School of Administration programs.
