Ítem Análisis de la movilidad social en Colombia durante las últimas dos décadas(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Mejía Molina, Cristian Alexander; García Montoya, Juan Camilo; Goda, ThomasThis research is based on the realization of a social mobility index through intergenerational education, understood as that which associates the educational level of a current generation with its immediately preceding generation. This is justified by the reality that Colombia is currently experiencing in terms of inequality and poverty, being the second most unequal country in Latin America, as measured by the Gini coefficient. Through the following work, the behavior of such social mobility in the different regions of the country was analyzed, in addition to a differentiation by education quantiles, which allowed identifying characteristics of each population group. In such a case, the state should implement support strategies for the poorest part of the population with the goal of raising their productivity and thus augmenting their possibilities of an active enrollment in the labor market along with an income that can help to fully satisfy their needs. In this perspective, the matter of education claims a leading role, taking into account subjects ranging from theoretical advances directly akin to the topic of economic growth to the empirical evidence available on the issue. Such demonstration is accomplished by starting from a revision of literature regarding economic growth and making a critical analysis of the Colombian economy’s diagnosis, emphasizing on the variables that relate directly to the problem being considered.Ítem Crecimiento, pobreza y distribución del ingreso: un análisis de equilibrio general computable.(Universidad EAFIT, 2007-06-15) Botero García, JesúsEn los últimos años ha llegado a ser objeto de creciente atención la relación entre crecimiento, pobreza y distribución del ingreso: hay un claro desencanto tanto de aquello que pudiéramos llamar el “facilismo de derecha” (según el cual, el crecimiento debería impulsar por sí mismo equidad y prosperidad para toda la población), como del “utopismo de izquierda” (que depositaba su esperanza en la capacidad del ser humano de elegir asignaciones equitativas mediante métodos centralizados), y ese desencanto ha obligado a examinar de nuevo con renovado entusiasmo el tema, mediante múltiples enfoques y metodologías. El presente trabajo se ocupa de analizar la relación entre crecimiento, pobreza y distribución del ingreso, desde la óptica del equilibrio general computable, y mediante ejercicios de estática comparativa realizados para la economía colombiana. In order to guarantee this right in Colombia, it is necessary to analyze whether factors such as gender and poverty have an impact on the possibility of older adults to exercise the effective enjoyment of the right to recreation.
