Ítem Distribución del tamaño de los cristales en el stock de Parashi, alta Guajira (Colombia)(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Perneth González, Miguel Andrés; Bustamante Londoño, CamiloIgneous rocks are formed in a variety of tectonic environments, in which the pressure and temperature conditions are different, causing different textures in the rocks. Therefore, these textures respond to the conditions present in the environment where the rocks are located. The qualitative study of rocks using methods such as CSD (Crystal size distribution) allows us to take a deeper look at the interpretation of textures, obtaining information on the crystallization of the rock. The application of the CSD method to samples from the Parashi stock, located in La Guajira, shows that the crystallization of the body did not occur in a linear manner, the evidence suggests that the nucleation and growth rates changed as the cooling of the material took place, causing larger size in plagioclases and in other cases favoring nucleation in biotites.
