    The purpose of this work consists in a detailed analysis of the Colombian firearms regulations for the civilian population and the evolution or changes they have presented throughout history, beginning in 1863. The study tracks and analyzes the norms that have been issued in this area and, at the same time, describes the socio-political context in which they were issued. The study covers the most relevant norms on the subject in a chronological order, including Constitutional, Legal, Criminal and Regulatory norms, having as a point of arrival the current regulation in force, its particularities and problems of application.
