    This paper examines how alternative conflict resolution methods used by the Palabreros of the Wayúu culture can be incorporated and coexist harmoniously with the Colombian legal system, based on a legal pluralism approach, which favors the inclusion of traditional practices within the established legal framework. To this end, it first examines the role of Palabreros as conflict mediators in comparison with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms established by law. Second, it analyzes legal pluralism as a normative and theoretical foundation that allows for the articulation between law and the legal mechanisms specific to indigenous peoples. Finally, the thesis concludes how figures such as the Palabrero can be integrated and coexist within the framework of formal justice mechanisms with the forms of conflict resolution specific to indigenous communities.
