Ítem Empoderamiento femenino : ¿es el género femenino y algunas variables concernientes a este, determinantes importantes en el PIB per-cápita de los países?(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Arcila Laverde, Jesús Esteban; Bohórquez Correa, SantiagoFemale empowerment is considered one of the main keys for the development of countries, mainly in monetary terms. Higher levels of female empowerment mean higher per-capita income for society as a whole. Tertiary education for women is seen as the main transforming factor for both women and societies; However, according to different authors raised in this research, there are other variables concerning the female gender and framed within the definition of female empowerment, which may have implications on the per-capita income of the entire society beyond the educational factor. An econometric regression of 6 variables is then carried out (identified through an extensive literature review) with variables related to the female gender as independent variables and the GDP per capita of the countries as the dependent variable, by means of a panel data model and with this, the true effect of them on GDP per capita is found, to later contrast with the analyzed literature and give reliable conclusions about the real effect of female empowerment.
