    Sistemas de protección al refugiado : análisis entre el sistema europeo común de asilo y el interamericano

    This work aims to analyze the measures adopted to protect refugees in the Schengen area, understood as the transnational model of the European Union, in comparison with the response of the Organization of American States to the phenomenon of mass migration of Venezuelans to the territories of countries party to organization. In the development of this work, certain key concepts will be defined, such as "refugee", "refugee applicants", "subsidiary protection", "asylum", among others, as well as a comparative law study between the European system, built on the jurisprudential pronouncements of the European Court of Human Rights and the Dublin System, achieving the creation of a common policy in the Schengen area for the protection of refugees, and the inter-American regional system, originated by the Cartagena Agreement and whose Declaration sets out the difficulties that the region faces when confronting massive migratory flows, to determine the existence of a regional model that complies with international guidelines for the protection of refugees comparable to that established in the Schengen Area, as well as to evaluate the policy and response of the Inter- American System to the Venezuelan migratory crisis and the limits of the current mechanisms.
