Ítem El maestro de escuela (1941) de Fernando González: tragedia e identificación catártica en la novela(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Zapata Grajales, Julián Santiago; Toro Murillo, Alejandra MaríaThis article proposes an interpretative approach to Fernando Gonzalez’ El maestro de escuela based on the literary genres of the tragedy and the novel -- Both genres are represented by Manjarrés and the narrator respectively -- After reviewing the author’s concept of the novel, the structure of the work is described, taking into account the tragedy’s qualitative part as pointed out by Aristotle’s Poetics -- In this weaving of actions, the cathartic identification of the narrator together with the critique he makes of the influence of political powers in literary activity is derived -- This latter derivation is the central idea in the novel
