Ítem Categorización de minerales críticos para su uso en energía solar fotovoltaica(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Villazón Lobo, Karen Cecilia; Ortega Pérez, Diana CristinaRenewable energies are a trend in the world, driven by climate change and the depletion of fossil fuels, these will have a great development especially in countries that depend heavily on them (Zhang et al., 2011). One of these renewable sources is photovoltaic solar energy, with a clean and renewable mode of operation of the electricity system, which can satisfy the demand for industrial energy needed in the territories. For the construction of these photovoltaic solar panels and their system, elements such as silicon, silver, boron, coal (as rock), aluminum, copper, phosphorus, and lithium, among others are needed (Sampaio & González, 2017), which we can obtain from diverse types of minerals found in Colombia. With the diversification of the mining basket, it will be possible to have a wider number of minerals (Ministerio de Minas y Energía, 2021), including those used for the construction of photovoltaic solar panels. For the nation it will be important to be increasingly clear about the minerals that may be very useful in the coming years due to the growing boom that renewable energies continue to have, especially photovoltaics. The purpose of this work is to contribute with the knowledge about the mineral inputs necessary in the photovoltaic solar industry, categorizing the critical minerals in Colombia, from the diversification of the mineral basket of the Ministerio de Minas y Energía, for use in photovoltaic solar energy with the verification of the state of the art of the industry in the country, then categorizing the main minerals for photovoltaic solar panels and, finally, with the identification of areas of potential occurrence of the categorized minerals.
