However, due to its history generated by improper use, mainly recreational, framed in illegal activities when handled as a narcotic agent, lead to aversion at a social, cultural, political, and religious level, overshadowing the benefits that it has when used as medicinal agent. Therefore, this new medical cannabis industry requires multiple developments in clinical research that can validate and support this plant and its derivatives as beneficial agents with therapeutic ranges for the symptomatic control of various human diseases. This work will focus on creating a business model that encourages scientific research on medicinal cannabis at the national level.Ítem Representaciones sociales de un grupo de personas no consumidoras de marihuana acerca de los consumidores de marihuana en la ciudad de Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Franco Ramírez, Daniel; Espinal Uribe, Juan CarlosÍtem The Impact of the Legalization of Medical Marijuana in the Opioid Epidemic(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Plata Rúa, Alejandra; Acosta Mejía, Camilo AndrésWe study the effects of marijuana legalization on demand for opioids in the United states. We tackle this question using transaction level data on the purchases of opioids by all pharmacies across the US between 2006 and 2012, together with a difference-in-discontinuity research design across two pairs of states: Michigan and Indiana, and New Mexico and Texas. We show that, on average, the legalization of marijuana has lead to a reduction in the purchases of opioids. However, this negative effects is mainly driven by a reduction along the Michigan-Indiana border, while there has been an increase along the New Mexico-Texas border. This ambiguous effects, which mimics the contradictory evidence found in the literature, suggest the existence of important heterogeneous effects and the need for further investigating such differences.Ítem Viabilidad financiera para el cultivo de Cannabis por parte de la Cooperativa Wala Cannabis Piendamó(Universidad Eafit, 2019) Valencia Luna, Jenniffer; Vergara Garavito, Judith CeciliaThis document reveals the results of the final report of the "Financial viability for cannabis cultivation by the Wala Cannabis Piendamó Cooperative", product of the application of the knowledge acquired during the Master's in Financial Administration, with the objective of contributing to the growth and strengthening of the agro-industrial sector of cannabis grown for medicinal purposes and to improve the quality of life of people with high-cost diseases, given the issuance of decree 2467 of 2015 and of law 1787 of July 6, 2016, through which the cultivation, production and commercialization of cannabis for medicinal and scientific purposes was approved and regulated.Ítem Vivencias subjetivas al consumir cannabis en un grupo de adultos jóvenes de Medellín (Colombia)(Universidad EAFIT, 2023) Rodríguez Metrio, Mateo; Orejuela Gómez, Jonny JavierObjective.
