Publicación Metodologías ágiles en empresas de tecnología de marketing digital : lecciones aprendidas y sugerencias para el futuro(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Cuellar Illera, Carolina; Coy Tacha, Lina María; Olarte Mejía, Laura MaríaThis study analyzes the implementation of agile methodologies in a technology company—henceforth designated as WIZ—operating in Colombia and the United States. WIZ is a design and technology firm that helps major global brands grow by creating innovative products and experiences. The study identified key patterns in the adoption of agile practices through the use of a qualitative approach that combined in-depth interviews, surveys and document analysis. The study highlights three main findings. The first one is that it is crucial to adapt agile methods based on the specific needs of each role. The second one is that agile knowledge-management mechanisms are of great importance to the organization. Finally, the third one is that the generation of customized metrics for different types of projects is of great value. As a final outcome, a practical guide with recommendations was developed for its use in future projects. Findings indicate that the success of agile methodologies is not contingent upon strict adherence to theoretical frameworks, but on the ability to adapt and apply their core principles to specific contexts. This investigation offers a valuable insight for technology organizations seeking to optimize their agile transition, particularly in multicultural environments and among teams with diverse technical roles.
