Mediación pedagógica a través de la plataforma virtual: aportes a la permanencia estudiantil(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Villamizar Carrillo, Anyela Patricia; Mejía Gil, María Claudia; Rodríguez Arango, MarielaThe present study was carried out in the National Open and Distance University (UNAD), School of Basic Sciences, Technology and Engineering (ECBTI) of the city of Medellin in the virtual modality -- Its objective was to analyze the motivators and barriers in the teaching and learning processes in relation to the virtual educational platform with the purpose of offering useful recommendations for the strengthening of mechanisms, actions and policies -- For student permanence based on the premise of increasing motivators and reducing barriers in the teaching and learning process, focused on improving the virtual platform of the UNAD -- The methodology was qualitative and descriptive cross-sectional, with semi-structured interview techniques, focus groups, and an analysis of results was carried out according to the triangulation of the information received by students, teachers and administrative employees -- The study, which aims to contribute to student permanence with a view to the completion of it, was thought as a simultaneous strategy to combat statistics that show that virtual education in Colombia has attrition rates above 60% (MEN, 2009) and studies such as the present are required to provide institutional tools for the improvement of quality within the framework of higher education -- The conclusions go in the direction that the student is motivated by all the processes of personal self-improvement and fulfillment of goals, which depend on the flexibility of the platform and its dynamics, and the barriers are aimed at difficulties when they are not It perceives the institutional accompaniment in methodological aspects such as in communication and in the management of interpersonal relationships between students, teachers and work groups in the teaching and learning process
