The concepts addressed in this research are Eating Disorders (ED) and how they can be perpetuated by the low levels of emotional intelligence that sufferers tend to possess. Method The qualitative approach is used, due to the scarcity of research on a subjective perspective of these pathologies in the literature, so a case study is used. The source of information is a single case, using the life history methodology. The information was collected through a semi-structured interview. Results. Difficulties are identified in each of the four branches of Salovey Mayer's EI model. This woman has gone through years of therapy that have allowed her to develop an EQ that has helped her to improve most of the symptoms of her ED. Discussion and conclusions. The results show the evident difficulty presented by this woman, these are compared with the existing literature and it is affirmed that in this case she did have strong difficulties in her EI, the construction of this EI through therapy was of great help in her recovery, however she still presents problems in some emotional aspects.Ítem Educación emocional para niñas en educación básica de Medellín : estudio de viabilidad(Universidad EAFIT, 2018) Farine Builes, Laura; Lemos, MariantoniaPurpose: Identify the viability of an Emotional Education program in the levels of Stress and Emotional Regulation in elementary school girls in Medellín. Method: Mixed study with pre-experimental design with pre and post intervention measures. The sample was composed of 24 girls with an average age of 7.96 years (D.T. = 0.204) from a private school in Medellín who received an intervention of 8 sessions on emotional regulation. The participants completed the Children’s Daily Stress Inventory (IECI), The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire(SDQ) and the Child Emotional Regulation Questionnaire Results. A significant increase in the emotional regulation of girls was found, t (17) = - 4,733, p <0.001. Regarding stressors, the IECI results showed no significant changes, p> 0.05. Regarding the perception of the parents (SDQ scale), no significant results were found in the evaluated dimensions. However, a tendency to decrease in emotional symptoms was observed Conclusions : A significant change in emotional regulation was found, evidencing a decrease in emotional symptoms, as well as a decrease in family and school stressors scales. Also, the girls showed greater emotional awareness, being able to identify their emotions and regulate them assertively. Simultaneously, it monitors and controls progress to determine which internal and external factors affect the fulfillment of these objectives. One factor that has not been studied is the emotional intelligence of the Vice-Presidency projects leaders. This research is aimed at determining whether a greater or lesser degree of emotional intelligence of project leaders has any effect on the fulfillment of objectives. For this purpose, a survey was made to the leaders and staff in charge, in order to know their perception on the subject, measuring the emotional capacity of the leaders and correlating the data obtained with the previous results of the projects.
