Ítem Declarative debugging of functional logic programs(Elsevier BV, 2001-01-01) Alpuente, M.; Correa, F.J.; Falaschi, M.; Alpuente, M.; Correa, F.J.; Falaschi, M.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ciencias; Lógica y ComputaciónWe present a general framework for the declarative debugging of functional logic programs, which is valid both for eager as well as lazy programs. We associate to our programs a semantics based on a (continuous) immediate consequence operator which models computed answers. Then we show that, given the intended specification of a program P, it is possible to check the correctness of P by a single step of the immediate consequence operator. We also present a more effective methodology which is based on abstract interpretation. By approximating the intended specification of the success set we derive a finitely terminating debugging method, which can be used statically. Our framework is parametric w.r.t. to the chosen approximation of the success set. We present one specific example of approximation. We provide an implementation of our debugging system which shows experimentally on a wide set of benchmarks that we are able to find some common errors in the user programs. © 2001 Published by Elsevier Science B. The business model was designed analyzing interviews from stakeholders from to the hass industry (Marketers, producers, owners and agronomist) searching and analyzing different mega tendencies related to the hass avocado. Once this elements were collected and analyzed, different components from the strategic planning tools were identified, such as the customer Jobs, pains and gains, and the activities to relief pains and create gains to the customers, and this way develop and deliver a product that achieves with all expectations, which were portrayed in the business model and value proposal canvas from Osterwalder and Pigneur, and the Bowman strategic watch, which were used to design a proper value proposal for the commercialization of the culture. Following the initiation, ideation and integration phases from the guide, the competitive strategy and business model was designed to contribute to the economic growth of this culture.Ítem La gestión de la empresa pública: Lecciones de una empresa de servicios públicos(Universidad EAFIT, 01/12/2005) Juan Carlos López Díez; Universidad EAFITÍtem Hardware-accelerated web visualization of vector fields: Case study in oceanic currents(2012-01-01) Aristizabal, M.; Congote, J.; Segura, A.; Moreno, A.; Arregui, H.; Ruiz, O.; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica; Laboratorio CAD/CAM/CAEVisualization of vector fields plays an important role in research activities nowadays. Increasing web applications allow a fast, multi-platform and multi-device access to data. As a result, web applications must be optimized in order to be performed heterogeneously as well as on high-performance as on low capacity devices. This paper presents a hardware-accelerated scheme for integration-based flow visualization techniques, based on a hierarchical integration procedure which reduces the computational effort of the algorithm from linear to logarithmic, compared to serial integration methodologies. The contribution relies on the fact that the optimization is only implemented using the graphics application programming interface (API), instead of requiring additional APIs or plug-ins. This is achieved by using images as data storing elements instead of graphical information matrices. A case study in oceanic currents is implemented.Ítem Improving the business processes management from the knowledge management(Association for Computing Machinery, 2016-01-01) Marta S. Tabares; Giraldo, Liliana; Aguilar, Luis; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas; I+D+I en Tecnologías de la Información y las ComunicacionesThis paper proposes a model that integrates the knowledge management to the business processes management in order to improve the process performance. The proposal defines the knowledge management flow as an element that interacts with part workflows and provides rules and actions in the BPMN elements in order to improve the BPM. To achieve the aim, first, a survey was made in forty Colombian' companies in order to identify the state of the practice about business process management, knowledge management and their use through the workflows; then, different elements were identified and characterized in order to achieve the integration model proposed. This was experimented in forty business workflows of the companies analyzed. A use case shows how the interactions among model elements are, and how these can improve the process performance. This experience allowed to measuring the effect that the integration had in the business process management by means of a new metric that involve the knowledge management in the workflow. Finally, it was possible conclude that the knowledge management must be part to the BPM impacting directly the workflow, in order to improve the result offered to the organizational actors and customers.Ítem Integration of DFMA throughout an academic product design and development process supported by a PLM strategy(2011-01-01) Osorio-Gomez, G.; Ruiz-Arenas, S.Quantitative Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) approaches are often applied during the last stages of the Product Design and Development Process (PDDP) as a unique activity, but it would be integrated more efficiently working from the first stages throughout the whole process according to the Concurrent Engineering philosophy. It is proposed a holistic PDDP where the activities and tools of DFMA Methodologies are integrated through its different stages in a single and distributed way, in order to obtain an integral implementation of DFMA in a "Product Lifecycle Management -PLM" strategy further along. This attempt is oriented to the implementation of a holistic PLM strategy in a standardized academic PDDP in the B.Eng. in Product Design Engineering at EAFIT University- Colombia. Besides, it is an initial proposal to integrate DFX methodologies in PLM, seeing that previous experiences have demonstrated that, at academic level, in projects where the application of all taught courses should be evident in the final designed products, students forget to apply considerations related to manufacturing and assembly issues. It proposes that the integration of stock exchanges generated transformations within the brokerage sector, and affected companies in response pursue different strategies to remain competitive in the current state of affairs. In the case of Colombia, stock exchange integration through MILA has resulted into mergers between local brokerage firms, acquisitions from both national and international companies and changes in ownership. © 2015 Universidad ESAN.Ítem Modelo de gestión humana desde Dave Ulrich : el caso de estudio de la empresa Eka Corporación SAS.(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Agudelo Niño, Yolanda María; Betancur Hurtado, Carlos MarioÍtem A new mechatronics laboratory for technology integration(Springer-Verlag France, 2017-02-01) Velasquez-Lopez, Alejandro; Rodriguez-Garcia, Alberto; Velasquez-Lopez, Alejandro; Rodriguez-Garcia, Alberto; Universidad EAFIT. Departamento de Ingeniería Mecánica; Mecatrónica y Diseño de MáquinasWhile teams and projects tend to be multi-domain, the infrastructure required to integrate and build prototypes lags behind to allow an efficient interaction and to offer multi-disciplinary facilities. Hence this paper presents an infrastructure approach developed in a Latin American academic context, where the concept of an Engineering Building is explained in order to support the demands of a 3rd Generation University. A deeper emphasis of this article is placed upon the development of a Technology Integration Laboratory in terms of functionality, capacity, adjacencies, furnishing and, physiologic and psicologic support. The layout design is based on the concepts of Mechatronics and Technical Systems while enhancing a teaching–learning-building process. After 5 years of operation the results obtained in terms of prototyping, filed patents and projects with the triad government-industry-academy are discussed. Our experience shows that such hands-on engineering facilities are worth having, especially within a virtual education growing trend, and that openness has influenced an increment of the Intellectual Property results. © 2015, Springer-Verlag France.Ítem A new mechatronics laboratory for technology integration(Springer-Verlag France, 2017-02-01) Velasquez-Lopez, Alejandro; Rodriguez-Garcia, Alberto; Universidad EAFIT.
