Ítem Discontinuidad de instrumentos públicos y gobernanza criminal en Medellín(Universidad EAFIT, 2021) Martínez Álvarez, Juan Felipe; Saldarriaga Paeres, Andrés Felipe; Aristizábal Gómez, Juan SebastianThis is constituted as a research work within the framework of public policies in Colombia. It will be possible to make a theoretical contribution on organized crime issues to be made to the competent authorities to adjust the different strategies in the fight against crime. The study seeks to be able to identify the effects that may occur when public security interventions are carried out in a discontinuous manner, and to account for whether there is indeed a dependency relationship with the consolidation of criminal groups in their public policy instruments. territories. For this purpose, we will carry out a case study, and apply a comparative study of the public security instruments used throughout three municipal administrations of Medellín between 2008 and 2019, understood according to the DNP (sf) as an instrument in which the planning of actions and strategies to be developed during a government period is defined, in order to solve or improve the different problems at the municipal, regional or national level (p .4).Ítem Por qué existe la música(2011) Posada, Andrés; Abad Restrepo, Ana Cristina; Posada, Andrés; Abad Restrepo, Ana Cristina; Andrés Posada (anposada@eafit.edu.co); Ana Cristina Abad Restrepo (abad@eafit.edu.co)Ítem Welfare gains of the poor: An endogenous Bayesian approach with spatial random effects(Universidad EAFIT, 2015-07-07) Ramírez Hassan, Andrés; Montoya Blandón, Santiago; aramir21@eafit.edu.co; smontoy4@eafit.edu.coWe introduce a Bayesian instrumental variable procedure with spatial random effects that handles endogeneity, and spatial dependence with unobserved heterogeneity. We find through a limited Monte Carlo experiment that our proposal works well in terms of point estimates and prediction. Then, we apply our method to analyze the welfare effects on the poorest households generated by a process of electricity tariff unification. In particular, we deduce an Equivalent Variation measure where there is a budget constraint for a two-tiered pricing scheme, and find that 10% of the poorest municipalities attained welfare gains above 2% of their initial income.
