Industries such as product design, additive manufacturing, biomedicine, automotive and aerospace are environments in which porous and lattice materials are of special interest given their properties. Computer Aided Design (CAD) three-dimensional (3D) Models are nowadays ubiquitous in many engineering contexts: in the automotive industry, for instance, more than 30.000 different parts are needed for complete vehicle, and most of them have a 3D CAD representation. In this sense, the ability to inspect the topology and the geometry of a standard 3D CAD representation model (such as STEP) is of high importance. More particularly, feature recognition is a task where this model inspection is relevant for engineers and designers, since they can easily find features of interest that are related with specific tasks: optimization, planning of additional manufacturing processes, detection of design errors, etc. Gerotor pumps play an important role in the aerospace industry, specially in the processes of cooling, lubrication and fuel boost and transfer. The design process of gerotor pumps usually involves: i) a geometric modeling stage in a CAD environment, ii) a design verification stage using fluid mechanics simulations to validate the efficiency and other desired characteristics of the pump, and iii) a physical testing stage to verify the predicted characteristics of the pump in a real test bank once the design has been validated through a simulation tool. Digital Twins would allow a faster workflow for the design and testing of gerotor pumps. This work presents a compilation of different contributions to the problems stated in this introduction. The EAFIT university has a Warehousing laboratory. In it explains different picking up systems that commercially exist, showing up the advantages and disadvantages of them, as well as alternative investigations improving them. Autonomous vehicles are one of the artifacts that many companies have implemented, to reduce costs, optimize resources and increase productivity in industrial and logistics processes; in this way, they have improved their indicators, since these vehicles bring with them a big amount of benefits. This work shows all carried stages for construction and design of autonomous vehicles for EAFIT's Warehousing Lab and mechanical, electrical and electronic plans, electronic cards, Labview software documentation, and Arduino. This report is intended to serve as a team manual. This manual could be reproduced, improved or made corrective and/or preventive maintenance.Ítem En busca de un mayor bienestar en la ganadería de ceba y levante(2021-04-05) Martinez Guerrero, Christian Alexander; Christian Alexander Martinez-Guerrero; Garcia, Rodriguez; Aguilas Jose; Toro Mauricio; Pinto Angel; Rodriguez Paul; Vicerrectoría de Descubrimiento y CreaciónÍtem Inteligencia artificial para optimizar la producción de carne(Universidad EAFIT, 2020-12-01) Martinez Guerrero, Christian Alexander; Martinez-Guerrero, Christian Alexander; García, Rodrigo; Aguilar, Jose; Toro, Mauricio; Pinto, Angel; Rodríguez, Paul; GIDITICPublicación Modelo de gestión de proyectos de TI basado en enfoques híbridos aplicado a sistemas de ejecución de manufactura para la industria cementera(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Ochoa Guerra, Marco Andrés; Zartha Sossa, Jhon WilderThis paper proposes an IT project management model based on the sixth edition PMBOK guide and the framework for agile projects Scrum. The model was built based on an existing bibliographic review, as well as surveys conducted by experts within Cementos Argos, which were responsible for giving specific guidelines and validating the proposed model. The results obtained in the validation of the variables resulted in a general acceptance of the hybrid model designed, demonstrating the need for a paradigm shift towards the use of agile practices, in an organization that has historically managed its projects sequentially under predictive models.Publicación Proceso estratégico para la unidad de negocio de proyectos de ingeniería en Controlmática SAS, con la metodología Estramipyme(Universidad EAFIT, 2025) Montoya Villa, Julián; Uribe de Correa, Beatriz Amparo; Johnson García, SantiagoThis work designs a strategic process for the engineering projects business unit at Controlmática SAS, a Colombian company specialized in industrial automation, through the application of the Estramipyme methodology. Founded in 2013, Controlmática faces structural challenges derived from a business model based on one-time projects, which generates operational dependence on founding partners, variable income, and limitations for scaling the organization. The objective is to define a strategic process that allows transitioning towards a professionalized structure, with the capacity to generate recurring revenues and strengthen its competitiveness in national and international markets. The methodological design was articulated in five stages: explore, understand, analyze, formulate, and deploy. Tools such as PESTEL, Porter's Five Forces, Value Chain, Business Model Canvas, VRIO analysis, Ishikawa diagram, and Galbraith's Star Model were applied. The analysis revealed that the central problem lies in a structurally fragile business model, based on variable income from unique projects, which prevents financial planning and hinders sustainable growth. The strategic formulation is defined as an objective to achieve recurring revenues and increase EBITDA, through the implementation of an Automation as a Service model, integrating predictive maintenance, remote monitoring, and operational consulting. The strategic deployment proposes transitioning from a simple structure to a professional bureaucracy, with formal executive roles, autonomous operational cells, and incentive systems aligned with strategic indicators. The results demonstrate that Controlmática has sustainable differentiating capabilities, but requires a simultaneous evolution of the business model, organizational culture, and value proposition to ensure its sustainability in a dynamic competitive environment.Publicación Propuesta de estrategia de operaciones de Carnes Casablanca basado en industria 4.0 e inteligencia de negocio(Universidad EAFIT, 2022) Arango Velásquez, Santiago; Escalante Gómez, Juan Esteban; Carnes Casablanca S.A.
