Ítem Estudio sobre la sostenibilidad económica y financiera de la Imprenta Nacional de Colombia y de sus actuales líneas de negocio durante el período 2010-2017(Universidad EAFIT, 2019) Bojacá Castañeda, Néstor Raúl; Giraldo Hernández, Gina María; Arango Londoño, Carlos MarioGeneral objective: to carry out a study about the economic and financial sustainability of the National Printing Office of Colombia and its current lines of business during the period 2010-2017. Specific objectives: (a) to identify the financial and administrative critical factors that could be generating risk for the sustainability of the company in the long term. To achieve this objective, an analysis of the economic and financial results obtained by NPOC during the period 2010-2017 will be carried out, using a descriptive research method with a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative); (b) to analyze the consolidated financial statements and determine the profitability of each business line: Official Journal and Legal Security, Graphic Printing, Communications Agency, and Document Management during the period 2010-2017; (c) to calculate the indicators of liquidity, indebtedness, efficiency and profitability for each line of business during the period 2010-2017; (d) to evaluate the economic and financial sustainability of the NPOC based on the information obtained through a five (5) year financial projection model. Method: Descriptive with a mixed approach (quantitative and qualitative). Question: What are the economic, financial and administrative factors that generate a current risk in the sustainability and profitability of the National Printing Office of Colombia? Results: a. FINANCIAL DIAGNOSIS (quantitative variables). Based on the study on the economic and financial sustainability of the National Printing Office of Colombia and its business lines during the period 2010-2017, it is concluded that the company is not meeting the Basic Financial Objective (OBF), because it is not maximizing the value that must be given to the Colombian State. This was observed in the results of the application of financial tools such as: vertical analysis, horizontal analysis, Annual Compound Growth Rate (CAGR), financial indicators (liquidity, indebtedness, activity and profitability), and macro value inductors: EBITDA , EBITDA margin, Economic Value Added (EVA), Net Operating Working Capital (KTNO), Tracking Capital Productivity and Growth Lever (PDC). b. LABOR CLIMATE DIAGNOSIS (qualitative variables). Based on the administrative study and the analysis of the work environment 2015 to 2017, some aspects were identified that impact the growth of the National Printing Office of Colombia such as: there is inefficiency in internal communication; there is a lack of recognition and participation of workers to contribute to the achievement of institutional objectives; the global personnel plant and organizational architecture are inadequate for the requirements of a state-owned industrial and commercial company that must operate with similar parameters to the private company.; there is a lack of growth and development policies within the entity, and there is also a lack of procedures for recruiting, selecting and incorporating officials and workers who meet the profile to meet the needs of the graphic communication industry.
